Women in Botany: An Advent Calendar

24 remarkable women. 24 botanical stories. 24 cups of tea. One very curious December.

Botany has never just been about plants. It is about the people who collected them, classified them, cultivated them, protected them, studied them—and occasionally went to rather unreasonable lengths in pursuit of a particularly interesting specimen.

Women in Botany is a beautifully illustrated 24-day advent calendar celebrating remarkable women whose work has shaped our understanding of the botanical world.

Behind each of the 24 windows is a botanical discovery connected to that day’s featured woman. Then open the corresponding envelope to find a collectible mini art print and a Geek+Tea tea sample.

Open a window. Discover a plant. Meet a remarkable woman. Make a cup of tea.

The calendar unfolds into a wonderfully improbable botanical room dressed for the holidays—part herbarium, part library, part cabinet of curiosities, with a disco ball thrown in for perfectly legitimate scientific reasons.
